Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression

I have been listening to this for a few weeks now - and wow - what I great album from one of the long-time energisers of pop/rock. Collaboration with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has really re-ignited the spark in the 68 year old firebrand.

This got me thinking about some of the later albums from a few of the stalwarts of the 60's/70's. We have had some pretty crisp and radical music from the likes of David Bowie (a significant collaborator and producer of Iggy in the Berlin days) - with Dark Star. Iggy (of course), Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and the irrepressible Patti Smith.

At the risk of sounding like the old fart that I probably am, will we be getting this vital input from todays talent show churn outs in twenty/thirty years time?
